Ingredients:
For the Dough:

Whole wheat flour – 1 cup

Salt – to taste

Oil – 1 tsp
-
Water – to knead
For the Stuffing:

Gram flour (besan) – ½ cup
-
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
-
Asafoetida (hing) – a pinch
-
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
-
Red chili powder – ½ tsp
-
Salt – to taste
-
Sugar – ½ tsp (optional)
-
Fresh coriander – chopped (optional)
-
Oil – 1 tbsp
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:

Mix wheat flour, salt, and oil.

Cover and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.
2. Make the Stuffing:

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.

Add cumin seeds and hing.

Add gram flour and roast on low flame until it turns golden and aromatic (about 5–7 minutes).

Mix well and allow the mixture to cool.
3. Assemble the Poli:

Take a small ball of dough and roll it slightly.

Place 1–2 spoons of the besan filling in the center.

Roll it into a round flatbread (like roti).

Cook on a hot tawa (griddle), applying a little oil or ghee on both sides, until golden brown.
