 English Simpal Recipes

Ingredients:

  • Fresh spinach leaves: 2 cups, washed and dried
  • Besan (gram flour): 1 cup
  • Rice flour: 2 tablespoons English Simpal Recipes (for extra crispiness, optional)
  • Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Green chilies: 2, finely chopped
  • Ginger: 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander seeds: 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Carom seeds (ajwain): 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt: to taste
  • Water: as needed
  • Oil: for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Spinach:

    • Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean towel. Tear the Hindi Simpal Recipes leaves into smaller pieces if they are large.
  2. Prepare the Batter:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the besan (gram flour), rice flour (if using), cumin seeds, coriander seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, and baking soda.
    • Add the finely chopped onions, green chilies, and grated ginger to the bowl.
    • Gradually add water, a little at a time, and mix to form a thick batter. The batter should coat the spinach leaves well but should not be too runny.
  3. Mix the Spinach:

    • Add the spinach leaves to the batter and mix well, ensuring that each leaf is coated with the batter.
  4. Heat the Oil:

    • Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadai over medium heat. To check if the oil is hot enough, drop a small amount of batter into the oil; it should rise to the surface quickly.
  5. Fry the Pakoras:

    • Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter-coated spinach into the hot oil. Do not Marathi Simpale Recipes overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if necessary.
    • Fry the pakoras until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
    • Use a slotted spoon to remove the pakoras from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
  6. Serve:

    • Serve the palak pakoras hot with mint chutney or tamarind chutney.

Tips:

  • Adjust the amount of green chilies and red chili powder according to your spice preference.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of garam masala or chaat masala to the batter.
