Semiya Upma English Simpal Recipes

 

English Simpal Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semiya English Simpal Recipes (vermicelli)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal (split black gram)
  • 1 teaspoon chana dal (split chickpeas)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1/4 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Roast Semiya:

    • Heat a pan over Hindi Simpal Recipes medium heat.
    • Add the semiya and roast it, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Tempering:

    • In the same pan, add oil and heat it.
    • Add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add urad dal and chana dal. Sauté until they turn golden brown.
    • Add cumin seeds and chopped green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
  3. Cook Vegetables:

    • Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
    • Add grated carrot and peas. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Add Spices:

    • Sprinkle turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
  5. Combine Semiya:

    • Add 1 1/2 cups of Marathi Simpale Recipes water to the pan and bring it to a boil.
    • Slowly add the roasted semiya, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
    • Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the semiya is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  6. Finishing Touches:

    • Add sugar (if using) and lemon juice. Mix well.
    • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  7. Serve:

    • Serve the semiya upma hot as a snack or breakfast.
