English Simpal Recipes |
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked English Simpal Recipes rice (preferably cooled)
- 1 lemon (juice extracted)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon urad dal (black gram)
- 1 teaspoon chana dal (split Bengal gram)
- 2 green chilies (sliced)
- 1-2 dried red chilies
- 10-12 curry leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
- Fresh coriander leaves (for garnishing)
Instructions:
Prepare the Rice:
- Cook 2 cups of rice and allow it to cool. Leftover rice works well for this recipe as it is less sticky.
Tempering:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
- Add 1 teaspoon Hindi Simpal Recipes of mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add 1 teaspoon of urad dal and 1 teaspoon of chana dal. Fry until they turn golden brown.
- Add sliced green chilies, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté for a minute.
Add Spices:
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, a pinch of asafoetida, and salt to taste. Mix well.
Add Rice:
- Add the cooled, cooked rice to the pan. Mix gently to coat the rice with the tempering and spices without breaking the rice grains.
Lemon Juice:
- Pour the juice of 1 Marathi Simpale Recipes lemon over the rice and mix well to combine. Adjust the lemon juice according to your taste preference.
Peanuts and Garnish:
- Add 1/4 cup of roasted peanuts and mix gently.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve:
- Serve the lemon rice hot or at room temperature with raita, pickle, or papad.
