English Simpal Recipes

Massaman curry is a Thai curry with a combination of spicy, sweet and tangy flavors. English Simpal Recipes Following is the Marathi recipe of massaman curry:


Materials:

For the curry paste:

6-8 dry red chillies

2 teaspoons of cumin seeds

1 teaspoon of coriander

2-3 cloves

1 inch cinnamon stick

2-3 Veldode

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp chopped ginger

2-3 garlic cloves

1/4 cup dry coconut

1/2 cup of water

For the curry:

500 gm chicken or mutton (change the vegetables if desired)

2 cups of coconut milk

2 large potatoes, diced

1 large onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup peanuts

2-3 bay leaves

2-3 green cardamoms

1 inch cinnamon stick

2 tbsp oil

Salt to taste

2 teaspoons palm sugar or jaggery

2 teaspoons of English Simpal Recipes tamarind paste

Action:

For the curry paste:

Soak dry red chillies in water for 5-10 minutes.

Roast all the dry spices cumin, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, dry coconut in a pan.

Mix the soaked red chillies, roasted spices, ginger, garlic, and water in a mixer to form a fine paste.

For the curry:

Heat oil in a large pan and add bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon.

Add onion and saute until golden.

Add the prepared curry paste and saute until the oil separates.

Add chicken or mutton pieces and fry it a little.

Add potatoes and saute for 2-3 minutes.

Now add coconut milk, water, salt, palm sugar or jaggery, and tamarind pulp. Mix well.

Add the peanuts and cover and cook on medium heat until the meat and potatoes are cooked.

Once the curry is cooked, serve it with hot rice or roti.
