Corn Cutlet Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sweet corn English Simpal Recipes kernels (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to spice preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves (cilantro)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons bread crumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions:

  1. Boil Corn Kernels: If using fresh corn kernels, boil them until tender. Drain and set aside. If using frozen corn, thaw and drain excess water.Hindi Simpal Recipes

  2. Prepare Mixture:

    • In a mixing bowl, add the boiled and mashed potatoes, boiled corn kernels, finely chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, garam masala, red chili powder (if using), salt, chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice, and 2-3 tablespoons of bread crumbs.
    • Mix everything well until all the ingredients are combined evenly. The mixture should be firm enough to shape into patties/cutlets. If it feels too wet, add a little more bread crumbs.Marathi Simpale Recipes
  3. Shape Cutlets:

    • Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a small flat round or oval shape, like a cutlet/patty.
    • Repeat with the remaining mixture to make more cutlets.
  4. Coat with Bread Crumbs:

    • Spread some bread crumbs on a plate. Take each cutlet and gently coat it with bread crumbs on all sides. This helps in giving a crispy texture when fried.
  5. Shallow Fry:

    • Heat oil in a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
    • Once the oil is hot, carefully place the corn cutlets in the pan. Fry them until golden brown and crisp on both sides, turning gently to ensure even cooking.
    • You can fry 3-4 cutlets at a time, depending on the size of your pan. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  6. Drain Excess Oil:

    • Once done, transfer the fried corn cutlets to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  7. Serve:

    • Serve the corn cutlets hot with ketchup, green chutney, or any dipping sauce of your choice.
  8. Optional Garnish:

    • You can garnish the corn cutlets with some freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving for added freshness.
