Materials:
200 gm Rice Cakes (Gottukiya / Tteok)
2 cups of water
1 teaspoon gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 spoon of sugar
1 teaspoon gochugaru (Korean red chili powder) (optional)
2-3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 cup thinly sliced onions
1/2 cup carrots, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chicken stock (optional)
1/2 cup green onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon of oil
Salt to taste
Roasted sesame seeds, for garnish
Coriander, to garnish

Preparation:
Soak the rice cakes in hot water for 10-15 minutes. These cakes will be soft.
Chop the garlic, onions, carrot and spring onion.
To prepare the sauce:
Heat oil in a pan.
Add garlic and onions and saute until golden.
Add gochujang, soy sauce, sugar and gochugaru and mix well.
Vegetable and Rice Cakes:
Add carrots and chicken and saute until soft.
Add water and boil.
Add the soaked rice cakes and cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
Cook until the mixture thickens and the cakes are fully cooked.
Check the taste by adding salt.
Decoration:
After cooking turn off the gas.
Add green onions and roasted sesame seeds.
Garnish with cilantro on top.

Serve hot with tikkibokki soup or plain rice.
