Korean Mandu English Simpal Recipes

 English Simpal Recipes

Materials:

200g kimchi (chopped into small pieces)

200 grams of minced chicken or minced pork

1 medium onion (finely chopped)

2-3 onions (chopped)

2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)

1 tsp fresh ginger (finely grated)

1 egg (beaten)

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder

Mandu Cover (Dumpling Sheets) - Available in market or homemade

Method:

Prepare the mixture:

In a large bowl, add kimchi, minced chicken (or minced pork), chopped onion, onion leaves, garlic, ginger, beaten egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper powder and mix well.


Prepare Mandu:

Take a mandu cover and place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of it.

Apply some water to the edge of the cover and close by bringing the two sides together. Close the edges by pressing well so that the mixture does not come out.


Cooking Process:

Steaming: Heat water in a steaming pan and steam gently for 10-12 minutes.

Frying: Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the mandu until golden on both sides.

Boiling: Heat water in a large pot and boil the mandu in it for 5-6 minutes.

Serving: Serve hot with lukewarm soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips:

You can add more vegetables to the mix (eg cabbage, carrots).

Mandu covers are available in the market, but can be made at home from maida batter.
