Saag Paneer is a delicious Indian dish made with spinach (saag) and paneer (a type of Indian cheese). Here's a simple recipe for you to try at home:

Ingredients:

- 250g paneer, cubed

- 500g spinach, washed and chopped

- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil

- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated

- 2 green chilies, chopped (adjust according to taste)

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon garam masala

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander

- Salt to taste

- 2 tablespoons cream (optional)

- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions:

1. Heat a tablespoon of ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the paneer cubes and fry them until they turn golden brown. Remove the paneer fromEnglish Simpal Recipesthe pan and set aside.

2. In the same pan, add the remaining ghee or oil. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.

3. Add the chopped onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn translucent and the raw smell of garlic disappears.

4. Add the chopped spinach to the pan along with turmeric powder, ground coriander, and salt. Cook the spinach until it wilts and becomes tender, stirring occasionally.

5. Once the spinach is cooked, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down slightly.

7. Return the pureed spinach mixture to the pan and bring it to a simmer over low heat. Add the fried paneer cubes and garam masala. Stir well to combine.

9. Simmer the saag paneer for a few more minutes until the flavors meld together and the paneer absorbs some of the sauce.

10. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
