Ingredients:
- 200 grams pasta (your choice of shape)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (maida)
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- First, boil the pasta in a large pot of salted water. Cook until the pasta is al dente, meaning it is cooked but still slightly firm. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for about a minute until it forms a smooth paste. This paste helps to thicken the sauce.
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously to avoid any lumps. Keep whisking until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon. This may take about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to let the milk boil.
- Once the sauce has thickened, add the grated mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. If needed, you can add a little more milk to adjust the consistency of the sauce.
- Season the sauce with salt and black pepper according to your taste. Remember to taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Add the cooked pasta to the white sauce and toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. You can add some chopped fresh herbs like basil or parsley for added flavor.
- Serve the white sauce pasta hot, garnished with some grated Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of black pepper. You can also add some sautéed vegetables, cooked chicken, or crispy bacon as per your preference.
Enjoy your creamy and delicious white sauce pasta!
