Rajma Chaat


 




Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Rajma (kidney beans), soaked overnight and boiled
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium-sized tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic-ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon Rajma chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves, finely chopped for garnishing
  • Lemon juice, as per taste



Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  • Add garlic-ginger paste and mix well. Then add turmeric powder, red chili powder, Rajma chaat masala, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix all the spices with the onion-tomato mixture.
  • Add a little water and cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat to allow the flavors to blend together.
  • Mash some of the boiled Rajma beans and add them to the pan. Mix well with the spice mixture and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a while.
  • Transfer the Rajma chaat to a serving bowl. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle lemon juice over it.
  • Serve the Rajma chaat as a delicious and tangy snack.
