Fasting Chaat Recipe





Fasting chaat is a delicious and nutritious snack that can be enjoyed during fasting periods or as a light meal. Here's a recipe for fasting chaat:

Ingredients:

- 2 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and cubed

- 1 cup boiled chickpeas

- 1 medium-sized cucumber, finely chopped

- 1 medium-sized tomato, finely chopped

- 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)

- 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, chopped

- 1 tablespoon roasted peanuts, crushed

- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

- Rock salt (sendha namak) to taste

- Black pepper powder to taste

- 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder

- 1 teaspoon chaat masala (make sure it's a fasting-approved variety)

- Mint chutney and tamarind chutney (optional)

- Sev (fried gram flour vermicelli) for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the boiled potatoes, boiled chickpeas, cucumber, tomato, green chili (if using), and coriander leaves.

2. Add the crushed roasted peanuts to the mixture.

3. Squeeze the fresh lemon juice over the mixture and toss gently to combine.

4. Season the chaat with rock salt, black pepper powder, roasted cumin powder, and chaat masala. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.

5. Give the chaat a final toss to ensure all the ingredients are well combined.

6. If desired, drizzle some mint chutney and tamarind chutney over the chaat for added flavor.

7. Garnish the fasting chaat with sev (fried gram flour vermicelli) for a crispy texture and presentation (optional).

8. Serve the fasting chaat immediately and enjoy!
