Stuffed Idli Recipe


Sure! Here's a recipe for stuffed idli:

Ingredients:

- 2 cups idli batter

- 1 cup mixed vegetable filling (you can use a combination of finely chopped carrots, peas, beans, corn, and capsicum)

- 1 tablespoon oil

- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)

- Salt to taste

- Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

1. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

2. Add the mixed vegetables to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly cooked. You can add salt and turmeric powder at this stage.

3. Once the vegetables are cooked, remove the pan from heat and let the filling cool down.

4. Take a greased idli mold and pour a spoonful of idli batter in each mold, filling it halfway.

5. Add a spoonful of the vegetable filling on top of the batter in each mold.

6. Cover the vegetable filling with more idli batter, filling the mold to the top.

7. Repeat the process with the remaining idli batter and vegetable filling.

8. Steam the idlis in a steamer for about 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. Once cooked, remove the idlis from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes.

10. Gently remove the stuffed idlis from the molds using a spoon or a knife.

11. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

12. Serve the stuffed idlis hot with coconut chutney, sambar, or any chutney of your choice.
