Sure! Here's a recipe for Ragi Flour Ladoo:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ragi (finger millet) flour
- 1/2 cup jaggery or cane sugar
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/4 cup grated coconut (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, cashews, or pistachios)
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Instructions:
1. Heat a pan on medium heat and dry roast the ragi flour for about 5 minutes until it becomes fragrant. Make sure not to burn it. Remove from heat and set aside.
2. In the same pan, heat the ghee. Add the chopped nuts and sauté until they turn golden brown. Remove the nuts from the pan and set aside.
3. In the same pan, add the jaggery or cane sugar and melt it on low heat until it becomes a syrup. If using jaggery, you may need to strain the syrup to remove any impurities.
4. Add the roasted ragi flour, grated coconut (if using), cardamom powder, and sautéed nuts to the jaggery syrup. Mix well until everything is well combined.
5. Allow the mixture to cool slightly until it is comfortable to touch. Make small lemon-sized balls (ladoos) by taking a small portion of the mixture in your hands and rolling it between your palms.
6. Repeat the process until all the mixture is used. If the mixture becomes too dry to shape into ladoos, you can add a little melted ghee to moisten it.
7. Let the ladoos cool completely before serving. They will firm up as they cool down.
Your Ragi Flour Ladoos are now ready to be enjoyed! Store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh for a few days.
Note: You can customize this recipe by adding other ingredients such as raisins, sesame seeds, or even cocoa powder for a chocolate twist. Feel free to experiment and make it your own!
