Potato Bhaji


 

Potato Bhaji is a simple and delicious Indian dish that can be made in a matter of minutes. Here is a recipe for Potato Bhaji:


Ingredients:

  • 3-4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Heat some oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida powder. Let them splutter for a few seconds.

  2. Add the chopped onion and green chillies and sauté until the onions turn translucent.

  3. Add the ginger paste and sauté for a minute.

  4. Add the cubed potatoes and mix well.

  5. Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well so that the potatoes are coated with the spices.

  6. Cover the pan and cook the potatoes on low heat until they are cooked through. You can sprinkle some water if the mixture becomes too dry.

  7. Once the potatoes are cooked, turn off the heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves (optional).

Your Potato Bhaji is now ready to be served hot with chapati, naan, or rice. Enjoy!
