Marble Cake Recipe

Certainly! Here's a classic marble cake recipe for you:

Ingredients:

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 2 cups granulated sugar

- 4 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 cup milk

- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

- 2 tablespoons hot water

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) bundt pan or two 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pans.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, using an electric mixer on medium speed. This should take about 3-4 minutes.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing well after each addition. Be careful not to overmix.

6. In a separate small bowl, mix the cocoa powder and hot water together until smooth. Add about one-third of the cake batter to the cocoa mixture and stir until well combined.

7. Pour half of the plain batter into the prepared pan(s). Spoon half of the cocoa batter over the plain batter. Use a knife to gently swirl the two batters together. Repeat the process with the remaining batters.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Remove the cake(s) from the oven and let them cool in the pan(s) for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cake(s) to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Once the cake has cooled, you can optionally frost it with your choice of icing or dust it with powdered sugar.

Enjoy your delicious marble cake!
