Sure! Here's a recipe for Khawa Cake:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Khawa (Mawa), crumbled
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of saffron strands (optional)
- Chopped nuts for garnish (e.g., almonds, pistachios)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crumbled khawa, all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, and cardamom powder. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
3. In a small pan, heat the ghee over low heat until it melts. Pour the melted ghee into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients.
4. Warm the milk slightly and dissolve the saffron strands in it (if using). Then, add the saffron milk to the mixing bowl as well.
5. Mix all the ingredients together to form a smooth batter. Ensure that there are no lumps remaining.
6. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Tap the dish gently on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
7. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top of the batter for garnish.
8. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the top turns golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the baking dish for a few minutes.
10. Carefully transfer the khawa cake to a wire rack and allow it to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your homemade Khawa Cake!
