Chiku Juice Recipe

Chiku, also known as sapodilla or naseberry, is a delicious tropical fruit with a sweet and caramel-like flavor. Making chiku juice is a great way to enjoy the refreshing taste of this fruit. Here's a simple recipe for chiku juice:

Ingredients:

- 4 ripe chikus

- 2 cups of water

- Sugar or honey (optional, to taste)

- Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions:

1. Start by washing the chikus thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or debris. Pat them dry with a towel.

2. Cut off the tops of the chikus and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds from the fruit pulp. You can scoop out the pulp using a spoon or your fingers.

3. Place the chiku pulp into a blender or food processor. Add a cup of water to help with blending.

4. Blend the mixture until you achieve a smooth consistency. If the juice seems too thick, you can add more water as needed and blend again.

5. Taste the chiku juice and if desired, add sugar or honey to sweeten it. Start with a small amount and gradually add more according to your preference.

6. Once the juice is sweetened to your liking, blend again for a few seconds to mix in the sweetener.

7. If you prefer a chilled juice, you can add ice cubes to the blender and blend for a few more seconds until the ice is crushed and well incorporated.

8. Pour the chiku juice into glasses and serve immediately. You can also strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother texture.

9. Garnish with a slice of chiku or a mint sprig if desired.

10. Enjoy your refreshing homemade chiku juice!

Note: Chiku juice is best enjoyed fresh, but you can refrigerate any leftovers for up to 1-2 days. Shake or stir well before serving again, as the juice may separate over time.
