Cherry Syrup Recipe

Certainly! Here's a simple recipe for homemade cherry syrup:

Ingredients:

- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 1 cup water

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for added acidity)

Instructions:

1. In a saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, water, and lemon juice (if using). Stir well to combine.

2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cherries have softened and released their juices.

3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

4. Once slightly cooled, transfer the cherry mixture to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

5. Set a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth over a clean container or bowl. Pour the blended cherry mixture through the sieve to strain out any solids. Press down on the solids with the back of a spoon or spatula to extract as much liquid as possible.

6. Discard the solids and let the strained cherry syrup cool completely.

7. Once cooled, transfer the cherry syrup to a bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Your homemade cherry syrup is now ready to be used! You can use it to flavor beverages such as lemonade, iced tea, cocktails, or drizzle it over pancakes, waffles, or desserts for a burst of cherry flavor. Enjoy!
