Ingredients:

Method:

Prepare the ingredients: Chop the onion, tomato, and green chili, and have all the spices ready.

Heat oil or butter: In a pan, heat 1 tbsp of butter or oil over medium heat.

Add cumin seeds and asafoetida: Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida (hing). Let the cumin seeds splutter for a few seconds.

Cook the onions: Add chopped onions and sauté them until they become soft and slightly golden.

Add green chili and tomatoes: Add chopped green chili and tomato to the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
