English Simpal Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 200g chow mein noodles (or any Chinese egg noodles)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (red and green)
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 cup sliced cabbage
  • 2-3 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Noodles:

    • Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. English Simpal Recipes Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  3. Stir-fry the Vegetables:

    • Add the carrots, bell peppers, and cabbage to the pan. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften.
    • Add the bean sprouts and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add Noodles and Sauce:

    • Add the cooked noodles to the pan.
    • In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and hoisin sauce. Pour this mixture over the noodles and vegetables.

  5. Thicken the Sauce:

    • Add the cornstarch-water mixture to the pan. Stir until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles and vegetables.
