English Simpal Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup sev English Simpal Recipes (crunchy Indian snack) 
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Red chili powder to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves (for garnish)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine wheat flour and chopped onions. Add salt to taste and mix well.
  2. Knead the flour Hindi Simpal Recipes mixture into a smooth dough using water as needed. Let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  4. Add turmeric powder and chopped onions to the pan. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
  5. Add red chili powder according to your taste preference and mix well. Turn off the heat and let the onion mixture cool down.
  6. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Take one dough ball and roll it out into a small circle.
  7. Place a portion of the onion mixture in the center of the circle. Sprinkle Marathi Simpale Recipes some sev on top of the mixture. 
  8. Bring the edges of the circle together and seal the stuffing inside. Flatten the stuffed dough ball gently.
  9. Roll out the stuffed dough ball into a paratha using a rolling pin. Make sure the stuffing doesn't come out.
  10. Heat a tawa (griddle) over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the tawa and cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides.
  11. Brush some oil or ghee on both sides of the paratha while cooking.
  12. Once cooked, remove the paratha from the tawa and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  13. Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or any chutney of your choice.
