Radish Paratha Recipe

Sure! Here's a recipe for Radish Paratha, a delicious Indian flatbread stuffed with grated radish and spices:

Ingredients:

- 2 cups whole wheat flour

- 1 cup grated radish

- 1 small onion, finely chopped

- 2 green chilies, finely chopped

- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger

- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)

- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala (optional)

- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves

- Salt to taste

- Ghee or oil for cooking

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour with a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Cover the dough and set it aside for about 15-20 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, take the grated radish in a separate bowl and squeeze out any excess moisture. Discard the liquid.

3. Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then add the chopped onions, green chilies, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onions become translucent.

4. Add the grated radish to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously. This will help remove any remaining moisture from the radish. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder (if using), garam masala (if using), and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool down.

5. Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into a small circle on a lightly floured surface. Place a spoonful of the radish filling in the center of the circle.

6. Bring the edges of the dough together to seal the filling and form a ball. Flatten the ball and roll it gently into a paratha, about 6-7 inches in diameter. Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.

7. Heat a griddle or a tawa over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the griddle and cook for a minute or until small bubbles start to appear on the surface.

8. Flip the paratha and spread some ghee or oil on the cooked side. Flip again and spread ghee or oil on the other side as well. Cook for another minute, pressing gently with a spatula, until the paratha is golden brown and cooked through.

9. Remove the cooked paratha from the griddle and place it on a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining parathas.

10. Serve the radish parathas hot with yogurt, pickle, or any chutney of your choice.

Enjoy your homemade Radish Parathas!
