- 2 medium-sized onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 2 tablespoons rice flour
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil for frying

Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the gram flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add water gradually to the mixture to form a thick batter. Stir well to make sure there are no lumps. The batter should have a consistency similar to pancake batter.
Add the sliced onions to the batter and mix well.
Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. The oil should be hot but not smoking.
Using a tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of the onion batter into the hot oil. Fry the bhajis until they are golden brown and crispy.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the bhajis from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
Repeat the process with the remaining batter until all the bhajis are fried.
Serve hot with chutney or tomato sauce.
