Faluda recipe

Sure! Here's a simple recipe for Faluda, a popular South Asian dessert:

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup vermicelli noodles

- 2 cups milk

- 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

- 1/2 teaspoon rose water

- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

- Assorted toppings (such as chopped fruits, nuts, jelly, basil seeds)

- 2 scoops of ice cream (traditionally pistachio or vanilla flavor)

- Rose syrup for drizzling

Instructions:

1. Cook the vermicelli noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water to remove any excess starch. Set aside.

2. In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Stir in the sugar, rose water, and cardamom powder. Continue to simmer for a few minutes until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let the milk cool to room temperature.

3. Prepare your toppings by chopping fruits, nuts, or any other desired ingredients. Soak the basil seeds (tukmaria/sabja seeds) in water for 10-15 minutes until they expand.

4. Assemble the faluda in serving glasses or bowls. Start by adding a layer of cooked vermicelli noodles at the bottom. Then, pour a generous amount of the cooled milk over the noodles.

5. Add your desired toppings on top of the milk. You can be creative and use a variety of fruits, nuts, jelly, or basil seeds.

6. Place a scoop of ice cream on top of the toppings in each glass.

7. Drizzle rose syrup over the ice cream and around the sides of the glass for added flavor and presentation.

8. Serve the faluda immediately and enjoy it with a spoon and a wide straw.

Note: You can adjust the sweetness and flavors of the faluda according to your preference. Feel free to experiment with different toppings and variations to make it your own!
