Idli:
Ingredients:

1 cup rice
-
1/2 cup urad dal (split black gram)

1 tsp fenugreek seeds

Water (for soaking)

Salt (to taste)
Method:

Sambar:
Ingredients:

1 cup toor dal (pigeon peas)

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chili powder
-
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
-
1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, potato, beans, etc.)
-
1 tbsp sambar powder
-
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
-
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
-
1-2 dried red chilies
-
2 tbsp oil
-
Salt (to taste)
-
Water
-
Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
Method:

Wash the toor dal Hindi Simpal Recipes and cook it in 3-4 cups of water until soft and mushy. You can use a pressure cooker to speed up this process.

Add chopped vegetables (carrot, potato, beans) and chopped tomatoes to the cooked dal and let it cook for another 5-7 minutes.

In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and dried red chilies. Let them splutter.

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and sambar powder to the pan and sauté for 2 minutes.
